Hypertension during pregnancy

During pregnancy, a woman may have certain health problems, but not all of them will be obvious. That is why it is necessary to regularly come for an examination and take all the necessary tests in order not to miss any deviations that have arisen. But the belly in which the baby grows and develops is the subject of the greatest pride and at the same time the greatest fear of a pregnant woman – it is always in plain sight, and a woman is able to notice any changes in her well–being. What is hypertension during pregnancy and how can it be dangerous?

Tone is the tension of muscles. Why can the uterus tone up? Because it consists of three layers, and its middle layer is called the myometrium, which is smooth muscle tissue. Thus, of course, this muscle layer can also tone up along with other muscles. For example, the uterus contracts even when sneezing or coughing, not to mention having an orgasm. In addition, a woman's anxiety – for example, during a gynecological examination – can also affect the condition of the uterus.

So, the fact that a pregnant woman's uterus sometimes tones up is not at all out of the ordinary. But with a caveat – only if this condition passes quickly. But uterine hypertension during pregnancy is often a more serious problem.

What is the threat of hypertension during pregnancy and how to identify it
A woman may notice on her own that her stomach is tense, not relaxed. In later stages, it is even visible to the naked eye. In addition, the tone of the uterus is often accompanied by other signs: first of all, a pulling pain in the lower abdomen or lower back, similar to the one that occurs during menstruation.

Hypertension of the uterus during early pregnancy is, unfortunately, very common, and its consequences can be very deplorable – up to spontaneous termination of pregnancy (miscarriage). The fact is that hypertension complicates the process of implantation of the fetal egg. And even later, since the fetus is extremely vulnerable in the first trimester, hypertension can cause its rejection and death.

At a later stage, excessive uterine tension can lead to premature birth. However, if the uterus periodically recovers shortly before giving birth, then these are most likely training contractions. They are not dangerous to the child's health, because they have a certain duration and do not occur all the time.

Can hypertension during pregnancy negatively affect the fetus? In some cases, yes, because the child does not receive enough oxygen and experiences hypoxia. Thus, this condition must be investigated, and doctors will determine the cause of its occurrence and prescribe appropriate treatment. Explorez Gransino et trouvez votre jeu préféré.
